Ischia è un’isola vulcanica di circa 46 chilometri quadrati, più grande di Capri e conosciuta per la sua vegetazione rigogliosa, agrumeti, vigneti e giardini botanici. Ischia è un mix unico di benessere termale, bellezza naturale, cultura autentica e ottima cucina, a un costo tendenzialmente inferiore rispetto a località più “in vista” come Capri.
Freschi vini doc – bianchi a base di Forastera e Biancolella e rossi con Piedirosso e Guarnaccia – crescono su terreni vulcanici nutrienti.
Tra le principali attrazioni troviamo il Castello Aragonese, la vetta del Monte Epomeo, i giardini La Mortella e i giardini Ravino.
Famosa da millenni per le sue acque termali naturali (alcuni esempi sono Sorgeto, Nitrodi, Cavascura), per bagni rilassanti e atmosfere rigeneranti.
Resort termali di alto livello come Mezzatorre, San Montano Resort & Spa offrono esperienze premium.
Spiagge sabbiose e scogliere come Maronti, Citara e spiagge con fumarole vulcaniche fanno da cornice a bagni e relax.
L’isola è ideale anche per attività all’aria aperta come trekking sul Monte Epomeo, passeggiate nella vegetazione e tour in barca tra calette nascoste.
La cucina ischitana è rustica e saporita: specialità come il “coniglio all’ischitana” (coniglio di fosse), legumi locali e pasta sono da provare.
Il pesce fresco – ostriche, gamberi – è protagonista nei ristoranti locali, spesso servito a prezzi più contenuti rispetto alla vicina Capri.
Ogni anno, tra fine giugno e inizio luglio, si svolge l’Ischia Film Festival nel Castello Aragonese.
